• Love the King, your God, with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength
• Love your neighbor in the same way we want to be loved
• Give thanks to God in all circumstances for this is His Will
• Forgive those who trespass against you so that your Heavenly Father will forgive you
The result of embedding these four beliefs in my heart has been almost complete victory over worry, judging others, irritations, lust, eating habits, anger, complaining, disharmony with others, and ingratitude.

I Promise by Gary Smalley
Like most couples, you may think that a successful marriage depends on relationship skills -- how many you possess, how well developed they are, and how successful you are in applying them. But none of these skills will have any effect if your marriage lacks that one, basic, foundational ingredient -- security.
In addition to the promises made on the wedding day, other promises need to be made in order to build security into the marriage from the ground up. A secure house needs more than just a solid foundation; it needs impenetrable walls, strong doors, dependable locks, a protective roof, and a working security system. A secure marriage needs more than just that initial, under girding, “forever” promise; it needs a series of subsequent promises to build safety into every facet of a couple living together and developing greater intimacy.
(Excerpted from I Promise: How 5 Commitments Determine the Destiny of Your Marriage by Gary Smalley. Each topic in this package will look at one of the five commitments.)
